Abstract

Cross-team warehouse pipelines often fail when upstream producers change schemas, field meanings, nullability rules, enum values, or delivery schedules without controlled communication. This article presents a data contract enforcement framework that turns producer-consumer expectations into executable validation rules for reliable warehouse operations. The framework combines contract registration, schema and type checks, semantic rule validation, freshness SLA monitoring, violation routing, approval workflows, and warehouse load blocking. The findings show that stronger contract maturity improves validation reliability, violation detection, and warehouse load stability. Contract governance also reduces warehouse incidents by blocking unsafe producer-side changes earlier and improving feedback closure between producer and consumer teams. The study highlights that data contracts should not remain as static documentation; they should operate as active enforcement gates that protect warehouse tables from silent schema drift, metric corruption, stale partitions, and downstream reporting failures.
